William Keeley born 1816 Limerick

Hi

I know this is a longshot.  I am trying to research the above who was born in Limerick.  He moved to London with is wife Mary Ann (b 1816), I think in the 1840s where they had 3 children, William Allenby, Mary Ann and Thomas.  I don't even know Mary Ann's maiden name.

If anyone can  throw any light on it for me I would appreciate it.

Hi are you sure he was born in Limerick as he appears in few census forms with being born in Marylebone Middlesex and his wife born in Ireland

Thank you for replying.

I'm not sure, some of the census show Limerick for them both but it could have been Marylebone.  I'm struggling with this one.  I must say I was surprised when Limerick appeared at all.  You've got me thinking now.   If he was born Marylebone odds are they were married nearby........

FreeBMD has, under 'Births Mar 1847', a William Allensby Keeley, registered Islington, volume 3, page 286.

Do you know the mothers maiden name have I got the right census in 1861 with Williams occupation being a shoemaker ? It has the same children but I noticed the Mary Ann daughter says she was born in Ireland ?

So how do you not know Mary Ann's maiden name (which was the point in your post I was trying to address - have you not ordered the record)?

I haven't ordered any records as yet.  Was trying to glean a bit of information before spending any money.  I was hoping that perhaps someone had access to records on Ireland.
