It's doubtful anyone would be granted permission to look this up because of Data Protection legislation.

  Sorry I did not realise that this would be an issue.  I just assumed that as they were both deceased that it was OK.

There could be much more recent records in the register and that would be the problem. You're probably as well to buy the civil cert and find out what parish it is, and then contact the parish direct to see if they'll tell you if there's more in the register.
