Thank you Janis and Alan.  It is interesting that the first child was baptized at St Maurice, (Anglican?) not Branton Presbyterian...something for me to research!

Brandon Presby

Michael Whillans born 19 May 1797, baptised 1 Jun 1797 son of John and Ann Whillans, of Reavely Green

most likely sibs:

James Weallans born 21 Apr 1799, baptised 9 May 1799 son of John and Ann Weallans of Reavely Greens.

Robert Wealands born 28 Apr 1801, baptised 17 May 1801 son of John and Anne Wealands of Reavely Green

There is another possible baptism for a sibling in Wooler Cheviot Street Presbyterian:

Elizabeth Wheales born 18 May 1795, baptised 24 May 1795 daur of John and Ann Wheles of Wooler parish

Thanks Janis

Those extracts illustrate one of our problems .. think they add two more variations to the Whillans homonyms.

Does anyone know if Elsdon residents would worship at Branton?

Hi, I wondered if you could help with a Branton birth please - Mary Paterson (or Patterson), born 29 April 1809, Branton, Northumberland, parents probably Anthony and Jane. Is she in the register?
