Woodlands Estate research has lead me to the minute book of the Uapoto Drainage District [Waikato] and Papers Past newspaper clips. Of considerable interest is their 1913 - 1918 attempts to drain the Uapoto Lake through a tunnel under the Orini Road. It would be nice to round off the research, with family accounts from some of those involved. Has any been handed down; oral or unpublished material ?
