Does anybody know why there are burials and marriages in Pertenhall from 1583/85 and yet the baptisms are from 1813 on the cds.  That's a big difference

Whose CDs are you talking about? The ones from Beds FHS? Have you asked them?

Bedfordshire fhs.  No I haven't asked them.  I went to email them but I thought I would maybe get a quicker response here.

Beds FHS seem to cover them  :-\

Pertenhall
Parish registers 1582-1812
Baptism database 1582-1851
Marriage database 1585-1812
Marriage surname index 1585-1812

Pertenhall is also quite well covered on familysearch

What files are offered on your Pertenhall CD ?

There should be separate baptisms, burials & marriages name indexes plus the transcript of the parish register from start up to 1812, these have baptisms/marriages/burials with an index towards the end of the file. Have you opened up all the files on the CD. If some are not there you need to contact Beds FHS
