Hi All,

Hope I am not asking the impossible but would it be possible to find the parents  and any siblings for

Juergen Heinrich VOGT?  he was born 16 Feb 1772, Garenfeld, Germany

There is a Garenfeld near Dortmund in the Ruhr area of Germany. The state is Nord Rheinwestfalen

You would need to check the church records for a baptism to give details of parents. It looks as if Garenfeld was a hamlet and swallowed into an area called Hagen.

My advice is to write to the Stadtarchiv for Nordrhein Westfalen who maybe able to point you in the right direction for your search. Unless you know the faith of the person you will be advised to contact the Catholic and Ev Lutheran church authorites.
 

If you email the Dortmund Stadtarchiv           stadtarchiv-dortmund (at) stadtdo.de
and explain as below hopefully they will tell you what records exist for which churches nearest to Garenfeld.

It maybe possible then for you to see if the LDS organisation hold the microfilm for the relevant churches.
