I am looking for Emily Wilkins .Although she came from Bristol, she married a sailor. In 1901,two of her children are in Eastry workhouse,no sign of the father,i presume he was at sea,and no sign of Emily.I have searched every individual census district, and cant find her. Also, searched all of the workhouse records. Can anyone help? Thanks,Glen.

Possible death for her

Jul/Aug/Sep 1909
Bristol
ref 6a 28
Emily Ann Wilkins   age 50

If thats her, then she must be somewhere in 1901

You say that two of her children were in the workhouse in 1901 - are there other children not accounted for in the same census that might be with her?

2 sons died.Another girl unaccounted for,but I have just found the marriage certificate of the youngest daughter, the one that was in the workhouse, and the older sister was a witness with her husband. It also said the father, was deceased.I had been told he died 1932,but it was between 1911 and 1918.I cannot cope with all this excitement!Glenys

Can you tell us the names and dates and places of birth for all her children (that you know of) - maybe we can hunt around for them in 1901 and it might lead us to her.

It also said the father, was deceased.I had been told he died 1932,but it was between 1911 and 1918.

Don't always believe this statement on marriage certificates, it has been known that a father has left the family and the mother has told them he has died  ::)
