Mary devlin from upper back ballyclog
« on: Tuesday 05 November 13 14:24 GMT (UK) »
Hey I've had alot of people of this site help me before with one thing or another.....so I'm going to try again.

So I'm currently searching for information on Mary devlin born around 1877 in the ballyclog/stewartstown area. Now I have found her on the 1901 And 1911 census forms, with her mother rose cummings. Now her parents where rose cummings and John devlin!

In 1901 she had a daughter called Mary devlin also......I'm searching for her aswell......as she, if she married May have had kids and grandchildren......who I'm keen to find!

I'm keen to find both Mary's death and possible marriage certificates. And I'm hoping someone can help

Thanks
Laura

If Mary was illegitimate then her birth would be more likely to be listed as Cummins rather than Devlin- have you checked online civil registration index under both surnames?

To save us from searching for information you already have found please post links to the census pages, etc.

Hey
Mary that was born in 1877 ish, I'm yet to find her birth record.
But her child Mary devlin born in 1901 I have got And mother is Mary devlin, so I
Assumed she would put her proper name on that registration, rather than a name she was known by!

You can use any name you wish as long as the purpose is not criminal and it was not uncommon for illegitimate children to be registered under mother's surname and later start to use their stepfather's surname, etc. You will need to check for a birth registration under both surnames-

If she never married there will be no marriage record.
