Lookup request at Lichfield Records Office
« on: Tuesday 20 May 14 23:01 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I was wondering if anyone is going to the Lichfield Records Office anytime soon? I am after a quick lookup if it would be possible. I am searching for the baptism of Amy Bacon circa 1811 from Brimington in Derbyshire. The problem is that the Derbyshire records office only holds Brimingtons parish records from 1813 onwards but Lichfield have the Bishops Transcripts from 1800. It's my last chance of finding her baptism after years of trying.

Any help would be much appreciated
Thankyou
Richard

Assuming no-one offers in the meantime and you can wait until July I will go to Lichfield for you.  I'm currently on holiday in France.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I've just been to Lichfield Record Office - unfortunately they only hold the BTs for Brimington AND there is a gap between 1805 and 1813  :'(  The BT bundle started 1800-1805 and then 1813 -

I'm assuming that the parish records are in Derbyshire, but it may be that early records have not survived.
