Bowell, Staffordshire??
« on: Thursday 17 July 14 23:34 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

I am looking at tracing my HADLEY family back further.  What I know so far is the marriage of Ann HADLEY to Daniel DERRY 13th February 1804 St Martin Birmingham. I found this on IGI originally but now can’t seem to find it on familysearch!

I found Ann DERRY living in Sutton Coldfield in the 1851 census at 27 Hill Hook receiving Parish Support and it gives her age as 74 and birthplace as what looks like Bowell, Staffordshire but I couldn’t find Bowell on the map! Ancestry transcribes as Banell but again nothing on a current map.  Closest would possibly be Bagnall.  So from this information I know she was born around 1777 but have been unable to conclude with certainty any possible parents for her.  Can anyone help?

Hi

I too have checked for this marriage on Familysearch.org and have not yet found it.

It is however on another site and reads as follows...

Marriage Register
St Martin Birmingham
Warwickshire

Daniel DERRY of this Parish Bachelor and Ann HADLEY of this Parish Spinster were married in this Church by Banns this 13th day of February 1804 by me G. CROFT ?
The groom signed and the bride made her mark
The witnesses both signed - John RICHARDS and Ann RICHARDS

Will see what I can find on Ann's birth.

Cheers
