Sorry I have come late to this thread.

The current address of 24 Breadalbane Street is indeed Highland Cottage but I don't think you can take it that this might be the residence of your Peter as houses do get renumbered from time to time. Not sure when your Peter was at 24 Breadalbane Street but it could be another property other than Highland Cottage. If we could narrow it down I little I would be more than happy to take a photograph for you as I live in Breadalbane Street.

Regards,

Ian

Interesting to see that Peter lived at Craigspure. You might have noticed that I use Craigspuir as my ID. I use Craigspuir as I have a house on Craigspuir Lane so the chances are that Peter would have past the plot many times.

Regards,

Ian

Hi Jodi,

I'm really intrigued by your posts as I'm trying to find more information on my grandfathers side of the family as we don't know anything about them. My grandfather was Hugh McIntyre and he was born in Tobermory in 1900 so this all seems a bit too much of a coincidence. May I ask your parent name?

Hi there! Yes it seems like maybe Hugh might be the brother of my great grandmother Christina (Tina Bell) Isabella MacIntyre McClinton :) She left Scotland in 1922 and headed to Canada where a sister Hannah was living. Winnipeg is where they lived for a few years(and my grandmother was born) before heading to Brooklyn where Tina died from cancer in her 40's. I have some info on this family that i would be happy to share to see if we can place your Hugh in this MacIntyre family! Where did your Hugh end up? I do know there was another uncle Angus that visited my grandmothers family in Ohio in the 60's...Peter MacIntyre and Christina McPhail were their parents..Let me know how i can help!...Jodi

Hi  :)

Thank you for this. Like I say we don't have that much information but Hugh served in the army then ended up living in Oban and worked in the Distilliery there. He had 7 kids, Sheila, Marion, Christine, Peter, Oonah, Ina and Moira. Even the names is so much of a coincidence. Moira is my mum and we were up in Oban recently and went to Tobermory so it would have been lovely for her to know more about her dads side. She was so young when he died and didn't know a lot and no-one seems to know much. That's all I can really tell you. I can give you my private email if you want to chat more and try and trace this?
