Wolfe family Brinklow

Hi all,

I'm trying to track down a marriage record for a Solomon Wolfe born Brinklow 1848 died 1931. According to the Census he is married to an Elizabeth in 1877.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In fact, Solomon was living in Bristol in 1871!

Hi KGarrad,

Found the 1871 census previously, hes working at a school by the looks of things Its just the marriage that seems elusive. I've seen notes elsewhere that he married an Elizabeth Freeman but nothing to support it.

And what is wrong with the marriage I found?
Solomon is in the right place, at the right time?!

The "Number of years married" on the 1911 census isn't infallible, and I searched FreeBMD for all Solomon Wolfe marriages, to an Elizabeth, from 1865 to 1900!

The only thing that concerns me is the gap to the first child?
But maybe Solomon was in the Army, or even in jail?!


I've looked at a number of trees on Ancestry, that all have Elizabeth Freeman as Solomon's wife - but not one of them has a marriage!

It's not just a school! Clifton College is one of the top 25 public schools in the country.

Good to know I'll have to read up about the school

On the 1911 Census His child David Wolfe (names Transcribed as Wolbe in places) appears living with his father Solomon and Mother Elizabeth, so I still think its an Elizabeth I need to find... definite possibilities for earlier marriages though that will be good to look into so thank you for that
