Laurie McClement Miller - where was he born?

Laurie McClement Miller was born in Scotland around 1830.  I am looking for his place of birth and if possible his parentage.  I know that in 1871 at the age of 41 he was living in Rochdale and that in 1881 he was a widower of 51, confectioner, still living with his family in Rochdale.  His death is recorded in Oldham in 1886.  His wife Mary Harriet Spencer, who he married in Rochdale in 1855, died in Rochdale (Wardleworth) in 1880.

I am hoping that with his distinctive middle name he will be found in Scottish records, but don't have access to them.  It's possible that since he married in Rochdale in 1855, he may be found in England in the 1861 census.  I don't know when he left Scotland.

Best place to confirm would be his marriage entry in 1855 to double check his father's name, but the entry above looks promising
