Hi, I just across http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=383996.0 this post from 2009 whilst searching for John Burgess Mee and have my own recently discovered information to add:

John Burgess Mee going by his daughter Elizabeth's marriage record was a farmer. He died leaving effects of £480 unadministered according to his will probate: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-23429-2258-99?cc=1921305

John Burgess Mee had a daughter, Elizabeth Loftus Mee, born around 1849 (based on her headstone age). She married Alexander Lyle of Tobermore in 12 August 1871 in St. John's Church, Belfast, even though they both came from the Tobermore area. They had five children:

  • Thomas Lyle - born 28 Aug 1873, died an infant
  • William John Burgess Lyle - born 29 May 1872, died 2 May 1885 in Tobermore
  • Lucy Jane Lyle - born 22 Sep 1874, died 22 Jun 1904. Married James Watters of Tobermore on 16 July 1895 in Kilcronaghan parish church. Had three children.
  • Elizabeth Lyle - born 30 November 1875, died an infant
  • Alexander Godfrey Lyle - born 29 Jan 1877, uncertain what happened to him

Elizabeth Mee died on 13 January 1879, and was buried two days later in Kilcronaghan parish graveyard in the same grave as her two infant children. Her husband Alexander remarried and named his eldest son in his second marriage William Burgess Lyle, keeping the Burgess name going even if not through blood.

My connection to the Mee's is through Alexander's first marriage, with my great-great-grandmother, Margaret Lyle, being Alexander Lyle's sister.

Also just to clarify, Tullyronan/Tullyrowan are archaic spellings for the townland of Tullyroan outside Tobermore.
