Marriage query John Hall, Jean Kay c.1750

Hi!

  John Hall and Jean Kay had several children in Haddington, East Lothian. These kids were Joan (1751), William (1753), Richard (1758) and Isabel (1760). However, I can't find a marriage for John and Jean anywhere (I'm using familysearch). Might someone else be able to stumble on what I'm looking for?

Stephen, I have no idea why, but often you have find births on the OPRs but no corresponding marriage for the parents  :-\ Almost like marriages were less well recorded than christenings maybe. Not sure on the numbers.

Like you cannot see a marriage on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for John Hall and Jane/Jean Kay on the OPRs.

The children that you have, their christenings (with helpful witnesses names) show on FreeReg.

John and Jean are my 5x Gt Grandparents.

I have never found a marriage record which leads me to believe they married irregularly.

The only possible parent (a John Hall) I have discovered on Scotlands People was born in Innerwick (about 23 miles east of Cockenzie area) in 1687 and married to an Isabel Brown 13 November 1719. I doubt very much whether this is a match for viable parentage though given the distance.

It is likely that proving lineage and marriage will be impossible.
