SILVESTER - Marriage & Birth Help Please
« on: Wednesday 11 July 07 11:49 BST (UK) »
I’ve just found this site – so hello :D

I’m trying to find the marriage of William Dewberry and Georgina Silvester.

Georgina was born in St Ouen on 10th June 1883.
William born in St Pancras, England on 21st April 1884

I’ve looked on the PRO BMD, and can’t find them – so I’m hoping that I’ll find them in Jersey.

In the 1901 census Georgina was living in St. Heilier, working as a Servant; William living in Plumstead England, working in the Arsenal factory as a labourer.

They had three children; Alfred, Violet and May.  Can find and the birth record of Alfred & Violet, May, the youngest, was born in England 1914.

Any help or guidance of where I can obtain this information will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Cassie

Hi Cassie

In the St Helier Registry Office index there is an entry for Georgina Rachel Silvester. It's in the volume Apr 1906 to Dec 1908 on page 56. Alfred William Dewberry is on the same page.

I can find a birth entry in St Helier for Alfred Henry Dewberry in the volume 29th Jan 1907 to 4th Dec 1908 on page 58.

I cannot see an entry for a Violet.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you require firther information.

Stewart

Stuart

What can I say - thanks so very much for taking the time to look this up.
It's very much appreciated.

I'll send a letter requesting copies of the certificates from the Registrar tomorrow.

Again thanks very much
Cassie

I know your post was a long time ago but I have only just found this site.  Georgina was married to my grand uncle Alfred William Dewberry.  I know you have probably found more information since this post but I would love to contact you to find out more.  I believe I may even have a photo of Georgina that I could share with you.

Hello.

Been looking into family history for my daughter as she is doing about ww1 at school when I came across this post.  My mother in-law gave us Alfred William Dewberry's name, he was my mother in-law grandfather.  If anyone has any stories or information we would be very grateful.  Thank you :D
