Hello Jan,

I had a look in "High Blantyre Auld Kirk and Graveyard" published by the Lanarkshire family History Society.

Sadly, there are no entries for either Nairn nor Robertson.

Hope this helps in some way.

Justin

Thank you for your reply Justin.
Perhaps you could tell me if there are other cemeteries in Blantyre to search?
If they were paupers did that mean they may not have had a gravestone?
Thank you again :)
regards Jan

Hello Jan,

There were certainly no other books of MIs for Blantyre. I shall ask the next time I go to the library.

I would guess that a gravestone would have been quite an expense. "Paupers' grave" is certainly a common enough term. Perhaps you should address that question to the general Scotland forum.

I'll be in touch. Justin

Looking for a Robert CRAIG on about 18 May 1826 - maybe his wife Mary Hamilton is there too.
Are there any other family members?
Thanks for help
Chris

Still hoping for a Blantyre lookup for Robert CRAIG about 26 May 1826.

Also for his wife, Mary HAMILTON - anytime after that.

The Craig family should also be there - William for 1879; Archibald and Alexander after 1879; Peter about 1876 and James between 1872-76.

Their parents James Craig and Elizabeth (Beatrix/Betty) Alexander should be there too. I think James is an 1851 death.

Thanks for any help.
