I wonder if anyone can help with finding old photo's of new stevenston, I'd especially like to track down any photos or news reports of the Fire at St. Patricks school circa 1982

Welcome to RootsChat, BDK427.
I would suggest having a look at the archives of the Motherwell Times, or Daily Record. The fire does ring a bell, as I lived in Holytown around this time. I'll post a link to the relevent site if they carry the story.

If you know the dates of the fire, you could check the archives for:

Evening Times http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2mus-XyGPC0C
Glasgow Herald http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC

One more thing, when you say old photos of New Stevenston, what sort of period are you particularly interested in?

Why not also consider contacting the local library:

I have often found libraries around the world to be more than helpful with requests for help regarding history local to their area. The New Stevenston one doesn't list an archives service, but even if they don't  hold a local newspaper archive and be able to do a look up for the specific story/picture regarding the fire, I'm sure they could point you in direction of another nearby one that does.
