Please can any one help me trace Williams past or help find his family in the old country.
WILLIAM ADAMS
b: 1769 in Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland d: 1822, buried at sea
William was originally from Omagh, County Tyrone in northern Ireland. With his wife and six children, he sailed from Londenderry about 1822-1825, hoping to start a new life in Canada. Their ship, like many others hauling immigrants at the time, was small, overcrowded, and disease ridden. Some of these ships were considered worse than those engaged in the African Slave Trade. Both William and his wife Sarah became victims, and were buried at sea. The voyage took 9 weeks. It is unknown by what means, but the surviving family settled in Ameliasburgh and Hillier Townships of Prince Edward county, Ontario.
