Perhaps an obituary for Morris McCaughin might help -

Go to the Free Library of Philadelphia website. They have a obit lookup service.

http://libwww.freelibrary.org/faq/faqsubcat.cfm?FAQCategory=...

http://libwww.freelibrary.org/faq/faqsubcat.cfm?FAQCategory=19

How can I get a copy of an obituary or a death notice ?

Send a written request with the person's name, exact date of death (month, day, year) or burial date and a stamped self-addressed envelope. We will check two newspapers for each name submitted.

U.S. Mail:
Free Library of Philadelphia
Newspapers & Microfilm Center
1901 Vine Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103

Email:
erefNEWS@freelibrary.org

Payments:
A $10 fee will be charged for up to three obituary name “lookups” whether or not staff can locate the obituaries. This fee covers three emailed scans. If you prefer a paper copy a $5.00 shipping/handling fee will be added. An invoice and search results will be sent upon completion of the research

Service Limitations:
Please be advised that staffing limitations prevent us from undertaking ongoing or in-depth research for patrons. Please refrain from sending additional requests until payment is completed for previous requests.

Hi Kieran,

Had a quick reply from the owner of the anc tree who is on vacation in the UK but will be back in the US later in the month. Hopefully she will have information to exchange with you. What is your connection ? Maybe best if you pm me.

Thanks
Sandra

For information purposes :- Appears the poster already has the marriage of Margaret McCaughin first to Mclean and then to Vincent Lee O Halloran in 1950. (Both deceased) Will now go back to the lady anc tree owner I contacted and apologise for asking for information the poster already had.

Sorry haven't found Margaret McCaughin in the 1940 census.

Sorry I have no further info on the O Halloran's you mention in your pm - do recall looking for them before. There are the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Marriage Indexes, 1885-1951 on https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1388247 but nothing else that I am aware of in the time frame you are looking.

Hi..
Was contacted by Sandra.  Morris was my Grandfather's (George Howard McCaughin) Uncle. I have info on Morris & family but cannot find Margaret after the 1930 census. It shows that Margaret & her brother Rodney along with their widowed father, Morris W, were living with his parents, Morris P & Mary McCaughin. I'll keep looking. I did notice a request from you  for gravestone pictures in Ballymenia(Spelling?) I think this is where Morris's Grandfather(James McCaughin) came from. He arrived in Phila,PA 1840; born ~ 1820.
Would you have any information? Would be so grateful.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat

So pleased you are able to join in this research.  Hope Kieran is able to help you but if not there is always the Ballymena board - Antrim - Ireland where you can put on your own request for information.
