What is a Farm Carter Worker
« on: Friday 14 March 14 09:39 GMT (UK) »
I have just found William Joseph Taylor in the East Stoke 1911 census his occupation is a farm carter worker, he's not down as farm labor, is there any difference if so what.

Thank you

Guess he had a cart and lugged stuff around as and when.
So he was a labourer - just being a bit more specific as to what he actually did. So he didnt dig the ground or plant the turnips, he carted them from the barn to the field!
But I expect he did a bit of everything if the need arose.
