im searching for any informatin about my grandfather i canot find anything about him other then his marriage certificate to my grand mother his nme is heinz ernst willi potratz born around 1921 in grantham lincolnshire. i was told he was possible POW thats how he came to britain? and that he wa apparently deported later after 1951? his father is ernst potratz tis is all i have no birth place no country nothing please help im not that skiled in geaneology and hve been looking for 4 years with no luck

your message is slightly confusing. You say he was born 1921 Lincolnshire - but do you mean he was married in Lincolnshire, as I gather you do not know his place of birth?

Marriage appears to be in Ap/May/Jun 1949, Grantham 3b 307

sorry about the confusion yes he was married in 1949 in grantham lincolnshire but thats all i can find i dont know where he was born only that its around 1921.
