The mystery of ROBERT AMOR
« on: Sunday 03 August 14 16:15 BST (UK) »
My 2 x ggf's brother was Robert Amor, born circa 1832 at Bromham, Wiltshire the son of John Amor (1800-88) & Sarah Truman Amor (1800-55)

He is still residing at his parents Bromham home in the 1851 Census (Piece: 1839 Folio:552 Page:26) & then disappears

I have checked the death of a Robert Amor in 1860 registered in Northumberland & this is not him

Amor is prone to be spelled Amer but no records I can find seem to link to him

Hoping someone may shed some light on his disappearance

Thanks

If your Amor came from Bromham being the Devizes reg district.....   maybe there is some connection to the Amor family of Calne registration district....... as I have noticed the surname in that part of the county.

Maybe check out some of the pdfs that Wilts OPC has for that region......

As much as there are Amor family members having various probates etc on the WCC site there was no mention of a Robert that u seek.....

hi there....

after i wrote my post tother day i went and had a look in my database....   One of the Amor family members from the Devizes registration district was sent down as an Agarian rioter...He was transported to Tasmania.......     Have you considered seeing if there is more on the Amor family in Tassie ?
