Thanks everybody for your time and help with this.I think i might have tracked him down with him living in Gnosall Staffordshire. There is a bit of a discrepancy though.I have a James Hall born 1896 in the 1911 census but in the 1901 census he seems to be James Bertie Hall born in 1897.Is this a common occurance with records or have i gone wrong somewhere.

regards Mick

Hi

Can I ask why you think it is that particular James Hall? There are an awful lot of James Halls born 1896/1897

Here is James Bertie Hall's registration:

September quarter 1896
Hall    James Bertie        Newport, Sh.    6a   745

Newport Sh spans the boundaries of the counties of Shropshire and Staffordshire.
