Post as in after 1894?

That's strange, I thought it was 1880s

Saying that though, the photographer has the date 1894, what does that mean?

I agree with IgorStrav, the lady is in her early 20s, definitely not 40, which date wise probably means it isn't who you think it is.

It could mean that this isn't my great, great, great grandmother Martha born 1842.

It could be my great great grandmother Frances whom was born in 1875.

Then again it could be any one of my great grandfathers siblings

I am currently waiting for my great uncle to reply to me, maybe by looking at it, he can find out whom it is

That would fit better with the date of the photographer.

Yeah

So it looks like it dates to the mid 1890s.

I will let you all know what my great uncle says, though he may not know

Early 1890s if she is up-to-date, before the really huge shoulder style started in 1893. Beautiful girl, wonderful photo!

Please also see sirsimon's related thread about the photographer.
He was called Hesket Andrews, and died in 1894.

I think that date on the Victorian Photographers website simply relates to the fact that his name appears in the Maryport section of the 1894 edition of Kelly's Directory

Agree with China. A late style kick-up shoulder so around 1891-3.
