I know of Martha's children by William Wait(e), that he was a policeman. We even have his service record. That is part of the reason why we believe that George would have been moved to change his last name when running off with Martha. I have the tree pretty well covered on Martha Tucker - Wait - Wiltshire's side, and their descendants after the IOW. It's going back toward George that is trying. I have a speculation as to what his name might have been, based on looking for carpenters in the area with the right birthdate. But one thing at a time.
To go back to my first posting, I might get another little sliver of info from his marriage to the Mary A. Wiltshire and her nephew who show up on the 1871 census.
So I'm still hoping for someone to search for the Allen family in 1841/ 51 /61 to see if Hannah is there with her sister Mary Ann, father William, mother Hannah, in / near Evesham and later Dudley. If they are, the trail then leads back to nephew Charles at George Wiltshire's home in 1871, which means my guess about the marriage to Mary Ann Allen is correct, and I can order the certificate to see if there's any info about George's father's name or profession.
