I would like to know the father's name on all three (but unsure if d/c or burial would give father's name of a 20 year old).

I expect certificates are the only way to find out what I want to know, however if anyone can help via any other means that would be wonderful.  :)

Death certificates from England/Wales don't show any family!
Except the informant, who may, or may not, be related? ::)

Also Lan-OPC will only show entries from the Anglican Parish Registers?
If your lot were Catholic or non-conformist, then they won't appear?

Hi

LancashireOPC does have some non-conformist records, in fact they just uploaded some Catholic records in the last couple of weeks.

LancashireBMD (and other counties) rely on the goodwill of the Registrars allowing volunteers access to the Register Office to transcribe the index. In the case of the Registrar (who was not in Lancashire) who requested the deletion of mothers maiden names for births pre 1911, their argument was I believe that the legislation only allowed mothers maiden name to be included from 1911 in line with the GRO.

I only knew because I just got a message of the latest updates on the Rootsweb Liverpool List and it included some Catholic records

KGarrad, I thought that if the child was young enough their d/c might mention "child of (father's name / father's occupation" - at least it does sometimes with burials. That is why I mentioned that I was unsure if this would name a father as the girl was 20 years old. And yes, the informant can sometimes be useful. :)

The family were not Catholic or non conformist.
