Does anyone know the birth details of Ann Livingstone? She married William Stewart in 1834 at OLd KIlpatrick.

Do you have her on any census showing her birthyear and birthplace?

If she died in Scotland 1855 onwards - her death cert will show her parents names and mothers maiden name

Hi all  :) ,

I suspect that Ann died before 1851 ,  and William has a second marriage to a Mary(McArthur ?) -
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XYZ6-8DQ

http://www.freecen.org.uk/ has the 1841/1851 transcriptions , I think William was a Cooper.

Ann died between 1845-1849, her father died when she was a baby or prior to her being born. Her husband remarried a Mary McArthur after Ann died. With William she had 4 kids, Margaret, John, Robert, & Janet. We think her parents names may have been Robert and Margaret. and that she may have married a Mr Miller since her son Robert added Miller to his middle name to distinguish himself from other Robert Stewarts when he came out to Australia proir to moving to NZ.

Hi

Old Kilpatrick is in Dunbarton so I will ask for your post to be moved to that board

I don't know whether Margaret died as a baby but she does not appear on this 1841 entry.  FS shows Margaret was b 1836 and John in 1839.  Robert was b 1842 and Janet 1845.  N = not born Dunbarton but born elsewhere in Scotland.  Y =born in Dunbarton

Ages in 1841 were rounded down to the nearest 5 yrs so Ann could have been between 20-24yrs old

William Stewart   25 cooper - N
Ann  20 N
John 2 Y
Walter Miller 25 N
Andrew Miller 15 N
James Bell   20 N
Robert Hamilton   20 N
Old Kilpatrick ED 3 Page 22 Line 640

Ann was born elsewhere in Scotland and was too young to have had a previous marriage to a Mr Miller as she would only have been around 17/18 when she married William

Hi Carole,
Stating the obvious here  :P but there are 2 Miller men in the same household as William and Ann Stewart - Wonder if this be where Robert's middle name maybe originated?
Looby :)

That's what I thought - pity the 1841 doesn't give more info like later censuses.  If they were related - it would have been handy to know in what way

The 1851 has an Andrew Miller b 1826 St Ninians Stirling but living in Dunbarton - not sure if he's the 1841 Andrew

The only Walter Miller in Dunbarton in 1851 was b 1809
