If you want to know 'hopefully' Susan/Susanna(h) maiden name it maybe on the marriage to Smith.

You really need to establish Susanna's maiden name so that you can see if William and Susanna's marriage throws any light on his origins.  Maybe the marriage that Cas found in 1847 between Henry Smith & Susanna Morgan is the one to gamble on    If it is the right marriage it should give Susanna's maiden name.  At least we have established that Sydney Smith has a first name of Henry even though he does not use it on census.
