Hi ,

Was Peter Paxton(b. c1844) shown as widowed on the 1881 Census ?

SP has a death for a Helen Paxton(other surname Nimmo) 1877 Falkirk Stirling , born c1843.

SP also has a death for a Peter Paxton 1919 Falkirk , Stirling , born c1843.

Further to finding the above 4 burials, I had a wee look to see what else I could find for you.

The following is in reverse order, i.e. going backwards from Jane Walker Paxton's death in 1947. The Census info is from Ancestry so cannot be guaranteed as being correct. I would advise you to try and get a hold of the actual images to check all the details

The 4 individuals interred in the above burial information are included and have been highlighted throughout in bold text.

Right, here goes:

(Helen appears on the 1881 & 1891 Censuses living with the Craig family, not with her parents)

Do you know what the exact link was between the Paxton & the Craig Families?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Ive been trying to reply to this link for ages! but for some reason would let me on the page?!
Anyway i finally got here and all the info is FAB!

The relation between the Paxton and Craig family is via Helen Nimmo, Peter Paxton's wife. Her sister Grace Nimmo married Francis Craig so Helen is their niece.

I wonder why Helen lived with them the whole time?.. quite sad that she died young and not living with her parents at this time.

Hello again!

i was wondering if anyone could help me work out what happened to Robert Beck Waugh born 1874? Ive have found him up to the 1901 census then he disappears?! Ive looked on ScotlandPeople but the only person to appear is a Robert BROWN Waugh??
Ive looked on Ancestry and Familysearch but no avail.. :( Ive tried looking for immigration records but still no luck :(

I was also wondering if anyone had free access to Scottish birth records to see if Robert Beck Waugh's father is listed on his birth certificate? as his mother was never married and has his mother's surname although i wondered where Beck came from? and if maybe this was something to do with his father?

Thanks guys :)

Help please!

Can't help with your query, sorry  :( but as far as I know there is NO free access to Scottish records - they are all pay per view on Scotlands People.

Josey is correct.

The only way to access BMD's is via Scotland's People.

Have you looked for Robert on the 1911 Census? (Again, only via SP)
