Hi I am researching for a connection between Pvte William Clewes 1885-1915 from Wolstanton Staffordshire and if they are related to Hannah Clewes 1891  also from Wolstanton. This person is my husbands grandmother. Any help would be great thanks Jennie

Hi and welcome to Rootschat, odd but the above family in 1881/91/1901 on my site are CLOWES?
Marriage Martha Brown to James Arthur Clowes or Clowers March 1879 Congleton 8a 375

To possibly help us all, do you know the parents of Hannah or who did she marry and when?

Hi I must apologise as I put Hannah as our relative. I think it was Harriet middle name.
I dont know how much info to give so hope this is not too much.
The info on the family that  I know is  correct is Ivy Clewes b1919. Her Mother is Harriet Clewes born 1891. Possible mother of Harriet is Sarah Ann (Sutton). They came from Bond st Wolstanton/Tunstall.
I would love any further info on this line.
Now  we visited France on holiday and discovered 2 soldiers both from  Wolstanton. They both died in the conflict.  We wondered if they are related
1  William Clewes Grenadier Guards  8151        2  William Clive Clewes  Cheshire Reg. 70101 Any help would be appreciated  frannygran
