John Bird appears to be living with Elizabeth Baddaley who first married George Woodward born  1836 – 1880,

I cant see a marriage between 1880 and 1885 for John Bird to Elizabeth Woodward /Baddaley
and I'm struggling to pin down John Bird before the 1891 census

John Bird died 1908

Any help received with thanks

Hi
There is a possible marriage for John Bird at St Martins Birmingham 30.5.1854
John Bird 21 labourer Coleshill St  s Thomas Bird labourer
Charlotte Sophia Nurser 21 Coleshill St d Thomas labourer
both signed witnesses Thomas and Ann Bevan

They are together in 1861 census at Rug St? Tamworth
John Bird 28 lab in gardens Lea Marston
Charlotte Sophia 28 Cudworth
Mary Ann 5 Nether Whitacre
Thomas 4
Isabella 10 mths
After that Charlotte and the children seem to disappear, except Isabella who is working as a servant in Carlisle in 1881 and may be a pauper in the Wigginton Workhouse Staffordshire 1871,Thomas who is living with relatives William (36)and Ann Joynes (34)1871.
But no sign of Charlotte's death.
There is another son John born and died 1863 Tamworth.14.2.1863-29.11.1863 but that's it.

So do the couple split?Does John meet up with Mary for the 1871 census and Elizabeth for 1881 and after and he is unable to marry either as Charlotte Sophia is still alive?

Ps the other John Bird from Middleton nearby born 1833 s of William and Mary  also with a wife Elizabeth married at Aston St Peter and St Paul 8.5.1854 an Elizabeth Thorley and they stayed there.

Hi

Many thanks for all the input, its great that in fact you have both followed the same line as I did.

I set up a tree for the Bird line independent of my main tree as I was unsure I had followed the correct John Bird.

I still feel I need more confirmation, as there is a lot of missing parts, but will continue to add to the information, and try to prove without doubt this is the correct John Bird.

I need to follow up

John William Bird born 1871 to John Bird and Mary UNKNOWN.

and need to try to track down what happened to Charlotte Nurser Bird did she leave John Bird and re marry or did she pass away ???

All the input is great and much appreciated
