My granny's side of the family is dewars.i am related to them. My great  great great and so on grandad lost dewars whiskey to his brother In poker or something

Being thoroughly pedantic, in Scotland we spell it Whisky without the 'e'. The spelling with the 'e' is specific to the Irish and American products.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
