If Mary died in the 1820s, what is your source for her date of birth and where she was born? Or do the birthplace and date refer to her husband?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

I have no source for date of birth or place of birth - only the marriage date
James Rankine remarried in 1825 and child Mary Rankine was not in 1841 Census

I can only presume Mary Lamb and child both deceased in child birth or shortly after

I presume that you have seen the original marriage entry, and that it contains nothing useful. If that is the case, then unless you get lucky with, for example, wills or sasines, you are unlikely to find anything much more.

Out of curiosity, who were the parents of James Rankine? I have a connection to the Rankines of Bantaskine.

James Rankine 1794 M Mary Lamb
James Rankine 1770 M Mary Main 1766
George Rankine 1739 M Jean Rea

generally from Polmont , Redding and Falkirk and gamekeepers at Callendar House and later at Dalry

Guess Mary Lamb will always be a mystery -believe there is mention in Forbes papers in Callendar House but not by name

a major blockage in my family tree - do know that both Mary Lamb and James Rankine were both of this parish in marriage details 11/05/1818 but have never found any further details in any Lamb family trees - the indexing number for marriage is M11970S and source film No 1041944 - Mary Lamb(Rankine) death is recorded 27/08/1821 479/01300366 -  any assistant/help would be greatly appreciated

Youre references are not the original sources, which are at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. Not all of the information available there was indexed or transcribed by FamilySearch so it is just possible that there might be something more they have missed.
