Help needed to decipher Census please
« on: Wednesday 16 April 14 09:41 BST (UK) »
Can anyone decipher the last entry of the Blacksmith born in Lochgelly. Under the "condition" is he married? As his wife is not on the census I thought she had died before 1861. Would he be registered as married or widowed if his wife was dead? Thank you.

Thank you for your help in deciphering the wording. I was hoping it said widower so as to narrow down the date when my grt grt grt grandmother died - I now know she died between 1851-61.
