1901 address
« on: Saturday 23 February 13 08:50 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know please if "Duncan Terrace" (Abersychan/Wainfelyn) was known by any other name in 1901?

Some records show Wainfelin as Pontypool, others Abersychan ... but I can't find a "Duncan Terrace" in Monmouth, at all ... >:(

I have Army Records suggesting someone was living here up until 1901 ...

Thanks for your help :)

I've just come across a few parish register entries via googling that refer to Duncan Terrace, Wainfelin (and similar spellings) Pontypool or Trevethin. All date from around 1901. Looking for them on censuses to pinpoint location but not much luck yet

However i wouldn't be surprised if it were a local name for a group of houses in one terrace in what is now a street with a different name

Were they MonmouthFH pages please?  I tried the same, and up popped pages of "something" with no header on it, just a lot of names, ages some had (dead) alongside them ... some had my relatives names there too, but I didn't know what they referred to ...

Thanks Mabel

Yes - think they are a work in progress. You can get an idea of what they are from the web address - eg one ends trev-marr-m-n.htm  which is "Trevethin marriages m-n"
