Sarah who?
« on: Thursday 21 November 13 10:56 GMT (UK) »
I am researching my King family and have just obtained a birth certificate. The birth is for a Richard King, born 1838 in Chesterton and registered in Bletchington. Father's name is Charles King and mother Sarah's maiden name is, well, I don't know... (see image)

I'm also having problems finding a marriage in the area between Charles and Sarah.

Thanks! ;D

Could you please post details of how I can find those records, just so I can find them myself, as I haven't been able to so far (can't find them on FindMyPast or IGI) :-\

I've now found them on the 1841 census living in Chesterton. With them is a Samuel Bowden born 1771 who could be Sarah's grandfather (thought he could be father, but you say that's Joseph).

There are numerous Trees on Ancestry     that  say  Samuel Bowden (1771) is  the father  of Sarah ,    gives  Mary Croton as Sarah's mother,    also  saying that  Sarah   and Charles emigrated  to  Australia  in 1844   There's  a Samuel Bowden death  registered in  Bicester  in  1844

Samuel Bowden married Mary Croton at All Saints Church, Middleton Stoney in 15 April 1802

Samuel was from Shoreditch, Middlesex. Mary was from Middleton Stoney
Witnesses; Anne Croton and ???? the page is torn.

The page is torn where the date should be in the Parish Records.

The Oxfordshire Family History Society Marriage Index 1538 -1837 which I think is taken from the Bishops transcripts lists the actual date so that's great.
