In case people haven't seen it, there are some very good free online courses here:

A group of us from the YTG have just finished an excellent one about Hadrian's Wall run by the the University of Newcastle. I've learnt a lot from it and you can do as much or as little as you want.

I've just started The Changing Faces of Heroism, which deals with how we look at heroes from WW1 and other people are going to do WW1 Trauma and Memory.

The courses are repeated, so if you have missed one there is a chance it will be on again next year. We've just registered an interest in one about Richard 3rd which we missed last time it was run.

You can join in an "in progress" course and catch up also

That's another good thing about them, they seem pretty easy going and there is no real deadline or pressure. The Hadrian's Wall one also had 3 live youtube sessions, with the tutors discussing questions that had arisen during the course.

I've really enjoyed the Hadrian's Wall course and now it is almost finished I feel quite sad.  I can thoroughly recommend the free online courses with Futurelearn, they are a wonderful resource and a great way of keeping the brain active!

That one hasn't started so you just "register an interest" and you'll get notified to sign up close to the start
