New Ellis Island site

I just ran across the new www.ellisisland.org site.  Does anyone know how you are supposed to find an individual, once you have found a manifest?

Looks like the same site that's been online for years. All you need to do is put in a name and search. To view manifest details you'll need to register (free).

Yes it looks the same now, but this morning, there was a Beta test screen up.  You put in the first name initial of the person you're looking for, then the last name.  It is really different.  I tried looking for the Agnes Laurie and it gave about 10 Agnes entries.  Then when you click on the manifest, everything was different.  Hopefully they'll get it all worked out.

It does seem to be a new site - a combined site - libertyellis foundation and the login doesn't work either for me as that was just a Ellis Island.

At the moment it looks complicated so we will just have to see and hopefully get used to it. :-\

Well, have just gone back to www.ellisisland.org, searched for 'Agnes Laurie', got 6 results, clocked on one and got manofest after signing in with my usual log-in details. Was also able to view manifest as usual.

 ::) I tried and can't put a full name in just an initial, which seems to be the same experience as G.
Righto- will now persevere!  ;)

Tried signing in with user name and password- says it's wrong. Tried 'forgotten password' says my email is not in the system  ???

I have re-registered  ::)

It says there will be more records which is great.
It also says you have to change your password if you are a returning customer but it wouldn't accept my email anyway.

I now see where I can put a first name in - hooray - but it isn't obvious at all. However, I am ok now.  ;)

Is there anyway to print the manifests in the beta or are we forced to order copies?
