patney lookup please

Im just going back over some info I have on the Shield family and i was wondering if anyone has any information on Patney please.

I know various members of my late family used to visit Patney and Im trying to find out more info....

Id like to know, if possible, the names of the members of the SHIELD family who may have lived there. I do know that one lady at least was buried there, name of Irene Shield in 1976 and Im pretty sure her father was buried there in 1931. So maybe it was him who lived in Patney
any help would be wonderful

The 1911 census shows one Shield family living at Patney, Charles and his family hailing from Norwood, London.  Are these related?

No Irene Shield listed, was that he married name?

I can only see James being buried there in 1931 and his wife Ellen Westbrook Patney

thanks ever so much, you might have just sorted that little puzzle out for me. Is it possible for you to give me the details of the 1911 census please.
If its the Charles Shield im thinking of his wife would probably be Louisa nee Barham.
Irene Shield is the daughter of James and Ellen, and she never married.

I don't think I'm allowed to give more than I have because of the forum's view on copyright.  I understand the NA hold the copyright to the originals and you can't copy them without their consent but that if someone transcribes details themselves from the original images and send them on to someone else that does not infringe the NA's copyright.  I wrote to them, the NA, a while ago expressing my understanding of the situation but they never replied so I've assumed, for another situation, that I'm right.  Perhaps a moderator on here could clarify this situation, if it's OK for me to transcribe the details from images of the originals then I'll happily do so.
