Maynard/Mainwood
« on: Sunday 17 June 12 19:09 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm looking for the father of a Richard Maynard B 1805 in long Crendon, I think it may be Joseph Maynard but it seems he may not have been born in Bucks , I,ve come across a Joseph Maynard just a few miles away in Gt Haseley Oxon, but cannot confirm this, any info on the family would be fantastic as seem to have hit a brick wall.
Kind egards
Paul Maynard

Hi Paul.

Long Crendon baptism - Richd. son of Joseph & Elizabeth MAINWOOD.

Marriage -  26 Jul 1830.  by Banns.  Richard MAINWHARD to Elizabeth Crooke.  (Banns - Richard MAINARD or MAINHARD).  Witnesses - Emanuel Ing & Elizabeth Stevens.

All baptisms occur for the children in the 1841 census.    But some baptisms do not occur in the year born.

~~~~~~~~--------------------------------------------------------------------
Long Crendon baptism - 14 Feb 1813 - Elizabeth, daughter of John & Ann Crook.
Marriage - 9 Mar 1812 by Licence.  John Crook to Ann Green.   Witnesses - Elizabeth Wainwright & Richard Shrimpton.
Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply had some of the info but the Easington Joseph was invaluable looks like he could be the one. Once again many thanks I,ve been having trouble as like you say the amount of variables with the Maynard surname is quite taxing.
regards
Paul
Looking for Maynard DNA
« Reply #5 on: Tuesday 24 December 13 00:29 GMT (UK) »
Paul:  I have connected five major lines descended from Maynard men in North Carolina before 1770.  Now I am trying to link these lines to Maynard male lines in the UK.   One match can be traced to ancestors in Ramsey, Hertfordshire but I think our ancestors may also have ancestors from Yorkshire, Sussex, Devon, or Cornwall.  If you are willing to consider taking a DNA test from  www.ftdna.com at my expense I would be pleased to send you links and files that will convince you of the legitimacy of my research.  You may call me in Maryland at * or send a message to *                 Cheers from Harold Ward Maynard (formerly known as Hal)
