Ursula Riches/Francis Taylor/Thomas Taylor 1750 ? - 1792 ?
« on: Friday 09 May 14 13:13 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys... I would appreciate some help please, my Nathaniel Taylor bn 1792 parents Francis Taylor & Ursula Riches, now , my problem, I have spent too much time searching different sites , now it`s over to those that know more than I, I have found this lady wed earlier to a Thomas Taylor , same place and dates fit. Ursula wed ( yr not known) Thomas Taylor & had three children then wed Francis Taylor ( yr Not known) this is where my line starts. In all registrations she seems to keep her maiden name even the births of all children , I have not come across this before, Is it possible that \francis & William are actually brothers & that something must have happened to Thomas. How can I find more out about this Ursula being wed twice to two brothers ?
Any help or ideas very much appreciated
Thanks
John

Hi John
I think Thomas and Francis are the same person and the Vicar just made a mistake when the daughter Frances was baptised.

From the Great Yarmouth PR’s see :- http://www.rootschat.com/links/0z6g/
Baptism dates
Ursula and Thomas had son Benjamin  7 Aug 1789 (Bapts & Burials 1786-1789 image 26 of 106)
Ursula and Francis had Nathaniel and Frances 20 Mar 1792 (Bapts 1792-1794 image 6 of 55)
Ursula and Thomas had son Thomas 19 Feb 1799 (bapts 1796-1799 image 69 of 74)

Another son born earlier - William, baptised 7 August 1787, born 21 July.

and I thought I had another … a Sarah Taylor, baptised by Thomas Taylor and Ursula, 1785,
until I saw the maiden name …. Mason?

That should have been 1787 (I haven't been to the pub, honest) ;)

not sure if that one is Benjamin William Taylor

Does any one know where I might be able to find the marriage of Francis & Ursula, I think I have trawled through so many pages of records, tried estimating that their first born was in St. Nicholas ,Gt.Yarmouth, that their marriage would have also been there.

Cheers
