WW1 Service Monument
« on: Wednesday 18 June 14 13:39 BST (UK) »
Dear Forum,

I have recently been informed via an oral family history comment that my Great Great Grandfather died in WW1 in 1917, however he was born abt 1854, making him 66. This does not seem correct. I have his death about 1917 in Tisbury, Wiltshire via record searches but I do not have a copy of the cert as yet and this new information has just been mentioned. Frank BARTLETT born 1854 in Norton Bavant, Wiltshire. Any information or suggestions appreciated, regards Jason

Hi Jason,

Tisbury is one of my parishes as OPC for Wiltshire.  I recently did some extensive research into the casualties of WW1 in Tisbury, both those on the memorial and others who are not.

If the link doesn't work, google Wilts OPC.
