Thanks for your help, I was hoping to find an actual memorial inscription i.e. for clues to other relatives, if anyone has this?

A few years back I was photographing war graves and found that Woodchurch was very overgrown in parts and a lot of stones were buried under grass/brambles etc.  Unless it has changed which I doubt, it would be very difficult to find a particular grave.

It is possible that someone has transcribed the MI's so I would ask Birkenhead library if they hold a list.

Lesley

I took a look at the transcription of MI's that the FHS of Cheshire made in 2001.

There are 4 stones recorded for the surname Lee, sadly not one for your man I'm afraid.

Regards
Colin.
