Shipping record for Mary Jane Morrison

I have not been able to find a marriage for Mary Jane to Henry Morrison and I cannot find them on the 1891 census. The first record I can find for Mary Jane Morrison in NZ is where she is a witness at her daughter's wedding in 1912 in Worser Bay, Wellington.

Hi Lu,

Mary Jane's daughter Ethel Edge was born on the 7 August 1887 in Barton, Lancashire and was illegitimate. She was brought up by her Grandparents Isaac and Susan Edge.

Ethel married Harold Ellis Wilkinson in 1912 in Wellington.

Thanks for confirmation (I had thought that's who she was) ... and also saw her arriving NZ with grandparents in 1908.  [Edit :  Actually she was listed with George A. EDGE's family -- Isaac and wife were on the next consecutive ticket number. ]

I tried looking (via ancestry) for Mary Jane under various surnames, as a passenger entering NZ (direct from UK) ... to no avail.      Will keep looking for you.

It does not help that on many shipping records the wife's name is just Mrs. If Mary Jane was previously married it would be hard to pick her out in the records.

I am just hoping Harry's military service record may hold the answer.

Don't know if you have since solved this mystery ?? 

But by a strange turn of events, I had cause to "dig up" further info on this Mary Jane MORRISON, just last week, in another thread here.     
[Somehow the EDGE name rang a bell with me but I just couldn't pinpoint where or when I'd come across it.]

Incidently, when I wrote up that little "spiel" on Henry and Mary Jane MORRISON in the  MacKENZIE (McKENZIE) thread, it was based pretty much on "my guesswork". 

I've kept the notes on all the info I sourced at the time for the MORRISON and EDGE family, so if you need anything further, yell out.
