Rodgers kinallen
« on: Monday 12 May 14 00:16 BST (UK) »
My great grandfather james Rodgers married my great grandmother lucinda Corbett late 1800s. I can find no trace of wedding at GRO/ Northern Ireland. Nor on family search.org.
1901 and 1911 census give no details of him. His name was shown but no details.
Any ideas. Kinallen is near Dromara co down.

Hi,
Rather oddly I can find the marriage of James Rodgers to SARAH CORBIT in Dromara First Presbyterian Church on 15 Jul 1858. The fathers' names were James Rodgers and William CORBIT. The familysearch site names the groom's father as DANIEL Rodgers

Just looking at 1901 census and the info given about length of time married. But cannot tie this up with a definite record.
Have checked GRO records and cannot trace marriage in northern ireland.
Nor can I find a record on family search.org.
Any ideas.

What do you mean by this, sorry to be obtuse, but something just isn't stacking up here, can you provide more information on why you think these people and this marriage between them exist?

Can you post the link to the 1901 census record?

I'm getting absolutely no hits back from any source, hence my suspicions.

Not great on computer but the site is National archives of ireland  1901 census. Free to search.
They lived in Kinallen  the district is under Skeagh.
I found birth of lucinda corbett and her mother was Ann Corbett.
Lucinda had a daughter named Harriet Corbett.
The census was an all ireland census.
My grandmother was Florence Elizabeth Rodgers (their daughter) born 1900.
I have spent many hours searching.
Although james Rodgers name was given on census no details were given in either 1901 or 1911.

Thank you. This is a genuine inquiry which has puzzled me for many years.
I know that James Rodgers died 1/5/1928. Death registered by his son Alfred.
Got this information from official GRO NI.
