In reply no. 11, Mag, Derrick refers to her as Alice - so could be the right one

I looked at Tweedmouth PRs today to see what was said about Alice.  Being in the ‘Barrington years’ there’s more information than usual

Alice Hall born 18 March 1806, baptised 20 April 1806
6th daughter of Watson Hall of Murton Midsteads, Pitman, native of Edrington
by his wife Margaret Jameson daughter of William Jameson native of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Hopefully there is information in that which could help confirm or eliminate this Alice.  If it is your Alice then the Hall family came from just over the border in Scotland so perhaps her marriage took place there.

I passed by Berwick and Tweedmouth just last Saturday - just for a change it was raining  ;D

Now we know this is your Alice then you may have to widen your search.  Her mother came from Newcastle and her father from Edrington which is near Mordington on the Scottish side of the border so it's conceivable that she could have married in either of those places.

Hi there

I am also related to David Small and Alison Hall.

Their son John Small, was my 3xgreat grandfather.

John Smalls wife Eleanor Cairns Paulin, has also been giving me difficulty searching backwards, as haven't been able to find their marriage as yet. I do know that Eleanor's parents were John Paulin and Mary Unknown.

Hi

I have just read your comments with interest....

I can confirm that David Small and Alison Hall were married at the Lamberton Inn near Mordington in 1830. I have the original record that has been passed down to me on my fathers maternal line.

I also have a photo of David and Alison Small taken at Tweedmouth much later in life.

I'm happy to share.
