Patrick & Mary Ellen Whyte inquiry
« on: Thursday 18 December 14 17:22 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking to find out what happened to a Patrick and Mary Ellen Whyte (or White) spelt both ways.
They lived at 66 Sandwith Street, Dublin in both the 1901 and 1911 census. Mary was born Jones on the 4th of January 1865 and Patrick was born about 1870.
They were both born in Wicklow and were married in St Andrews, Dublin on the 19 February 1892.
They appear to have had only 1 child who didn't survive.
I have no record of what happened after the 1911 census and don't know where to begin. Help greatly appreciated.

Gaffy Thanks for the links. I should have included them.

Dathai. Thanks for that info. I didn't know if the child was a girl or boy.
Glasnevin may be a good place to find her parents graves too.
Do I need to go in person or are the Glasnevin records available online?

Thanks Dathai.
I got the records for the grave which notes all those intered in this grave.
I lists Patrick, Mary and child, Josephine but interspersed are 3 others who I'm not aware are related.
Is it likely that unrelated people are burried in the same plot?

Hi Charlie
yes on the unrelated people. One of my ancestors died 1859 down as grave owner his father died 1881 and his sister in the 1920s there are approx 14 people buried in this grave about 6 people buried in it in 1840s all on same day possibly Cholera epidemic. There was a five year option to buy these graves if not purchased within this five year period they reverted back to ownership of Glasnevin who then sold them on again possibly a bit cheaper, also found one of my in laws children died 1903 on her own for 100 years when i found her grave in the early 2000s there was a brand new headstone to a different family.

The 5 years option is curious in this case, but maybe just because of my amateur research status :)
There is a Mathew Deegan 1875, South Richmond St.
Josephine White, 1896, the child, Sandwith St.
Patrick Tierney, 1902, Luke St.
Anne Mullen, 1910, 38 Sandwith St.
Patrick Whyte Parent, 1937, 38 Sandwith St.
Mary Whyte, Parent, 1949, 38 Sandwith St.
Your thoughts are welcome.
