I've 'discovered' the wife of a cousin in Leicester. I rang her tonight, she's in her 80s and was a mine of information.

She confirmed that the Grandma is indeed Marcella and told me that Aunt Josie (Josephine) stayed in Ireland, but her eldest child joined her aunts in Leicester.

The stuff you and Shane have discovered is above and beyond what I'd hoped for. Thank you both.

I'm posting this for a friend, who is the daughter of Josephine Heffernan's eldest son. Josephine married Richard Kearney in 1927 and their son came to Leicester in 1947 and married a local girl  and had a family.

Would the two of you like to share information?
