I would be very grateful if you could give me any information about them, ie what they did for work and any other intresting facts . Trish has looked up the LDS website, see the link below.

These records are taking from the Old Parish Records from the Church of Scotland, and not all times did they give you occupations, sometimes they did. You can go to the Scotlandpeoples website,

http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/search/oprmarriage/index.aspx ,

put in james lang and agnes edgar in Pre-1855 Banns and Marriages, and it may give you occupations. You purchase 30 credits for £7, and it will cost 1 credit for the search, then 5 credits for the actual OPR, until you look at it, you cannot tell if it gives more information or not.

Seems like we  share some ancestry. Agnes Edgar was my gr gr gr gr gr grandmother. I have her birth document and her marriage document. Agnes was born 13th February 1715. She married James Lang in Linlithgow in 1748.
